UCC Sports Scholarships

The UCC Sport Scholarship programme aims to support athletes achieve their full potential and is divided into two main strands. The first is the UCC Individual Sport Scholarship, which is open to applicants involved in team sports or individual sports other than the core sports. The second strand is UCC Team Sport Scholarships which covers Hockey, Rugby, Soccer and Gaelic games including Gaelic Football, Hurling, Ladies Gaelic Football and Camogie. The sport or sporting organisation must be recognised by Sport Ireland. Scholarship values range from €500 to €2,000. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding ability in their chosen sport and an ability to compete at National or International level (inter county level for GAA Applicants). All applicants must satisfy the normal entry requirements of the University and have been offered a place on a degree or postgraduate course at the university. Existing students are also eligible to apply. Applicants must be pursuing a full time university course at University College Cork. The application process for 2025/26 opens on 19th of May 2025 and closes on 3rd of September 2025. Only one type of scholarship may be applied for per applicant.
