About this opportunity

The UCL Access Opportunity Scholarship is designed to support students who, because of their immigration status, are unable to secure student loans for higher education. This scholarship specifically targets asylum seekers, children of asylum seekers, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, or forced migrants based in the UK who have been granted temporary leave as the result of an asylum or human rights application. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support to enable these students to pursue their undergraduate education at UCL. Two scholarships are available annually, each covering full tuition fees and a substantial living allowance for the normal duration of the undergraduate programme. The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers for students who cannot access traditional student finance due to their immigration status. Annual renewal is subject to satisfactory academic progress, ensuring continued support throughout the degree programme. Selection takes into account personal and financial circumstances as well as residency status. Applicants must hold an offer of admission to UCL for a full-time undergraduate degree and demonstrate their inability to access student finance because of their immigration status. The scholarship reflects UCL's commitment to widening access and supporting students from forced migration backgrounds.
