VELUX FONDEN invites civil society organizations (possibly in collaboration with municipalities) to apply for funding for method development projects that can create inclusion of socially vulnerable citizens through their participation in communities using new approaches and methods. The goal is that participation in communities can contribute to diversity and social cohesion in a democratic society. A large group of Danes find themselves in a socially vulnerable position and are excluded from communities that can demonstrably provide better well-being. VELUX FONDEN calls for innovative initiatives where new methods are developed and tested to strengthen citizens' path into the general communities found in civil society, the labor market, and educational institutions. The aim is to develop and organize communities in a way that makes them safe and inclusive for socially vulnerable citizens, so that individuals can expand their social network and strengthen their personal agency. The communities should promote diversity, contribute to social cohesion, and thereby support democracy, trust in each other, and ultimately society's social sustainability.
