Undergraduate maintenance loans for part-time UK students

Part time students can apply for a means tested part time maintenance loan from Student Finance England. This maintenance loan is used for living costs and the amount received is partially based on household income and whether the student lives in their own home or in their parental home. As a part-time student, the amount of maintenance loan available will also be based on the intensity of study, which is worked out from how many modules are taken (between 2 to 5 modules per academic year). Repayments will be 9% of any income above £25,000, so the amount repaid each month depends on earnings. Repayments are deducted automatically from pay packets, and all outstanding repayments will be written off after 40 years.
