University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship

The University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship was established in 1996 and revised in 2023 to encourage and support excellent domestic and international doctoral candidates who wish to conduct research which aligns with the strategic objectives of the University of Auckland. The scholarship is awarded to high-achieving doctoral candidates applying for admission to an approved doctoral programme at the University of Auckland. Applicants who are applying to enrol in their first doctorate will be assessed for scholarship eligibility and award at the time of application to the doctoral programme. No separate application is required as the scholarship is awarded automatically based on the recommendation of the relevant faculty or University committee. The scholarship provides financial assistance with doctoral study for a tenure period of up to 42 months full-time equivalent.
