About This Opportunity

The University of Gothenburg's Student Fund provides grants to students, student associations, and unions to develop student social life at the University of Gothenburg. The fund was founded in spring 2023 by then Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg in collaboration with Carl Bennet AB. The purpose is to provide better conditions for successful studies, contribute to good student health, strengthen university-wide cohesion between different student groups, create community across educational areas, and increase the attractiveness of both the university and the city of Gothenburg. Funds can be used for activities that welcome and include international students, develop student traditions, promote health through sports tournaments, stimulate students' involvement in community-building activities, and support social gatherings for friendship and community. Initiatives that increase the university's attractiveness and collaboration with the surrounding community are encouraged. In 2024, 40 applications were granted with a total of just over 400,000 SEK, with amounts varying between 1,300 and 61,000 SEK. During 2025, 46 applications were granted with amounts ranging from 1,000 to 30,000 SEK.
