UPEI Alumni Athletic Fellowships

The UPEI Alumni Athletic Fellowships are awarded to a maximum of five returning UPEI student athletes who are in good academic standing and actively participate as ambassadors of UPEI and Panther Sport. Recipients must practice leadership skills by playing key roles in goodwill, recruitment, and retention. In 2008, the UPEI Alumni Association began a campaign aimed at making certain that UPEI student-athletes had the needed resources to be effective both on the field and in the classroom. Funds raised were for three initiatives: the creation of a new athletics facility called the UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place in honour of the alumni support that made it a reality, the branding of a 48-seat "smart" bus, and the creation of UPEI Alumni Athletic Fellowships.
