About this opportunity
The UQ Women in Action Fund provides small grants to support aspiring female engineering, design and technology students to make a global impact. Established by the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) with the support of Professor Simon Biggs, Executive Dean in 2015, and supported by the School's alumni and friends, this fund awards up to five small grants of $1,000 each, twice per calendar year. The grants enable students to engage in community and industry-based experiences such as study tours, student exchange, and short-term professional and personal development experiences. Eligible activities include attendance at interstate or international conferences, registered elite athletes attending significant overseas athletic events to advance their athletic career, HDR students undertaking overseas internships that further their research projects, and attendance at 'iconic' activities such as international mining games. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology at the University of Queensland, have completed the first year of their undergraduate program or be a postgraduate student, and have maintained satisfactory academic progress.
