Urban McInnis Prize

The Urban McInnis Prize is awarded to a Prince Edward Island female and male varsity basketball player entering their third year of study who has made significant academic progress. This award was established by the Congregation of Saint Martha of Prince Edward Island in honor of Urban McInnis, a friend of students and faculty at St. Dunstan's University of Prince Edward Island and of the Sisters of St. Martha. The Congregation of Saint Martha, founded in 1916, has been instrumental in the development of social services in Prince Edward Island, working in health-care facilities, schools, and parishes on the Island and beyond. The Congregation has demonstrated remarkable generosity in supporting students at the University of Prince Edward Island, funding five scholarships and awards annually, including this memorial award.
