Utviklingsstipend

Drammen kommune has been awarding development grants to young athletes since 1993. In spring 2024, the grant program was strengthened with an additional 250,000 kroner, bringing the total annual distribution to 290,000 kroner for youth athletes in the municipality. The grants are awarded through Drammen Sports Council based on applications from local clubs and associations. The program aims to support talented young athletes aged 15-20 who are among the elite in their sports disciplines and represent a Drammen-based club. The grants are distributed with gender balance in mind, and at least two of seven grants must be awarded to para-athletes. Recipients must primarily be residents of Drammen, though exceptions can be made for students temporarily residing elsewhere. The grants are awarded annually, and previous recipients are eligible to apply again in subsequent years.
