About this opportunity
The UW International Experience Award provides financial support to full-time graduate students at the University of Waterloo who participate in international experiences. Several awards, valued at up to $2,500 each, are available annually for students engaging in minimally-paid or volunteer international co-op work placements, volunteer placements, academic exchanges, or study terms related to academic requirements. The international experience must normally be for a minimum of 8 weeks, though experiences lasting at least 4 weeks may be considered for reduced value awards. Award values range from $1,000 to $2,500 depending on the length of the international experience. Preference is given to students with financial need who will be travelling to an unfamiliar country where they will experience a different culture in a new learning environment. The award is open to graduate students in any faculty and any program, provided they are in satisfactory academic standing and are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Award selection takes place once per term with application deadlines of July 15, November 15, or March 15.
