About this opportunity
In an effort to share its language resources with as many teachers and students as possible, Middlebury offers the Vermont Language Teacher Scholarship. This scholarship provides funding to cover the comprehensive fee of the full cost of the program including tuition, on-campus housing, and food for one summer of language study at Middlebury Language Schools. Two scholarships are awarded annually: one for a current language teacher employed in a Vermont secondary school who wants to engage in further study of the language currently being taught or to undertake the teaching of a second foreign language, and one for a Middlebury College undergraduate student enrolled in the Middlebury Education Studies program who is in the process of becoming certified to teach a foreign language. The scholarship is competitive and for one summer only, though recipients may reapply to the Language Schools for additional summers of study or for degree candidacy at their own expense. Selection is based on demonstrated commitment to language teaching and evidence of academic ability and language competence.
