Vestfolds litteraturpris

Vestfolds litteraturpris is an annual literary prize awarded by Vestfold County Municipality. The prize was established in 1997 and recognizes outstanding literary work from authors connected to Vestfold. As of 2024, the prize consists of a work grant of NOK 25,000 and an artwork by an artist from the county. The prize is primarily awarded for fiction, but can also be awarded for non-fiction. Literary and professional quality are given particular weight when selecting the winner. The purpose of Vestfold's literary prize is to make visible, stimulate and develop the literary writing culture in Vestfold. A proposed candidate must be an active author who has a connection to Vestfold through their biography and/or work. The prize can be awarded based on a debut, a single book, a work in progress, or a completed authorship. Candidates can only be nominated by others, not by the author themselves.
