About This Opportunity

The Veterans Bursary Program was established to disburse monies from the Bursary Fund as per the Federal Court of Canada issued Court File Number T-463-07. The court order names Universities Canada as the administrator of the bursary program. On April 15, 2013, the Federal Court of Canada issued an Order outlining the terms of settlement in the matter of Manuge v Her Majesty the Queen. The Order provided for the establishment of a fund, in the amount of $10 million dollars to be administered by Universities Canada for the benefit of Class Members and other beneficiaries. In 2021, class members in the matter of Toth v. Her Majesty the Queen were added to the program. Further changes were made to the program in 2022 to expand eligibility for the benefit of Class Members. Class Members of the Manuge v. Her Majesty the Queen and/or Toth v. Her Majesty the Queen class actions and/or a Class Member's spouse, child, grandchild, niece, nephew, son-in-law or daughter-in-law are eligible. The program is administered by Universities Canada in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada, McInnes Cooper and Gowling WLG law firms.
