About This Opportunity

The Victoria University of Wellington Law School Leaver Scholarship provides financial support to New Zealand's brightest young students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend university. This scholarship programme has been established to ensure the University's Faculty of Law continues to attract the very best students who represent the diversity of New Zealand society. The scholarship is valued at $5,000 paid over two years ($2,500 per annum) and is specifically designed for school leavers intending to enrol in a Bachelor of Law at the Law School. Preference is given to applicants demonstrating financial hardship. Recipients must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents who have achieved NCEA Level 2 Certificate endorsed with Merit or equivalent qualifications. The scholarship can be paid directly towards accommodation costs at a Victoria University of Wellington Hall of Residence or as a stipend paid in two instalments. Recipients are eligible to hold the scholarship for two years, with the second payment awarded upon acceptance and enrolment in second year Law.
