Vijay Bhardwaj Peace Education Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student with superior academic achievement registered in the Secondary Route of the Bachelor of Education degree program at the University of Alberta. The award is specifically for students pursuing a major or minor in Social Studies or a minor in Religious and Moral Education. Selection is based on academic standing and community involvement that demonstrates a commitment to peace. This endowed scholarship honors Mr. Vijay Bhardwaj, the first Chair of the Mahatma Gandhi Canadian Foundation for World Peace, who was a distinguished legal scholar and practitioner with degrees from Benares Hindu University and UC Berkeley.
