About This Opportunity

The Von Der Oelsnitz Scholarship was established through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation by a bequest from Haydee Jacobs to encourage postgraduate study of French and German language. The scholarship supports students who are currently studying French or German at Honours, Master's, or Doctoral level at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship is awarded biennially in odd numbered years and provides financial support of $5,000 (subject to funds available) for one year. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit by the Head of School of Languages and Cultures and other appropriate staff from the school. The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards and requires recipients to write a letter of thanks to the donor.
