About This Opportunity

The Wagga Wagga Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) scholarship supports local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in pursuing their higher education goals. The LALC's aim is the spiritual healing of youth through talking about nutrition, lifestyle, culture and community awareness, while creating a safe place where young people can feel supported by good people watching out for them. The LALC focuses on education and this scholarship specifically helps Aboriginal youth from the Wagga Wagga LALC boundaries attend Charles Sturt University. The scholarship provides approximately $3,000 for one semester to assist eligible students who demonstrate financial hardship and have strong academic performance. Applicants must be long-term residents within the Wagga Wagga Local Aboriginal Land Council boundaries and demonstrate commitment to their community and future aspirations.
