About this opportunity

The Waimate Agricultural Trust provides financial assistance to students of any form of agriculture for the purpose of their education. Established in 2012 from funds provided by The Waimate Farmers Veterinary Club, the trust aims to retain benefits within the area previously serviced by the club. The grants are managed by a Board of Trustees which has complete discretion regarding the granting of funds and all matters related to eligibility and residence. Grants are specifically designated to cover tuition costs at polytechnics, universities, or other recognised formal training institutions. Applications are restricted to residents of a specific geographical area in the South Island of New Zealand, extending between the Waitaki River in the south to the Pareora River in the north, with western boundaries extending to Lake Benmore and the Otaio Gorge. Applicants must have lived within this geographical area for a continual period of at least two years of their lifetime. Successful applicants are eligible to re-apply for funding on an annual basis and must complete an accountability questionnaire outlining their academic year's progress.
