About this opportunity
The Waitawhiti Memorial Postgraduate Scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student studying postgraduate level agriculture or horticulture at Massey University. The scholarship is supported by a gift from Charles and Margaret Richardson, who farmed at Waitawhiti Station near Eketahuna. The scholarship is in memory of their sons, who both attended Massey Agricultural College. Graham Speedy Richardson was a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force and died in 1944. Paul James Richardson was shot in a farm accident.
This postgraduate scholarship supports students enrolled in a postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma with a focus on disciplines relevant to agriculture and/or horticulture. Recipients will preferably be from the Wairarapa area. The award is valued at approximately $2,000 NZD and is available for one year's duration.
Selection is based on academic achievements, other scholarships or bursaries held, and place of residence. Applicants must demonstrate high achievement and be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. The scholarship aims to support students who meet the intentions of this memorial award while pursuing advanced studies in agricultural or horticultural fields.
