About This Opportunity

The Wallenberg Clinical Scholars program is a joint initiative between the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation aimed at strengthening Swedish clinical research. The program identifies and supports the best clinical researchers, providing them with excellent conditions to undertake their work and facilitating the impact of research results. The program is investing a total of SEK 600 million over ten years. During the first five years, 24 Wallenberg Clinical Scholars were appointed, each receiving a grant of SEK 15 million over a five-year period with a possible extension of five years. From 2020, the program has moved into its extension phase, where universities with medical faculties can nominate previous Clinical Scholars for continued funding. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is responsible for the scientific evaluation while the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation makes the final funding decisions.
