Walter Burfitt Honours Scholarship

Established in 2025 through the generous support of Walter Burfitt, this scholarship empowers outstanding Honours students within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. The scholarship provides financial support in the form of a living allowance for students undertaking an Honours degree or year in the Faculty of Science. The award is valued at $7,500 AUD for one year, paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. This donor-funded scholarship is awarded based on the Weighted Average Mark (WAM) from a completed Bachelor degree or equivalent. No application is required as all eligible candidates are automatically considered, and successful candidates are notified via email. Recipients may hold another scholarship concurrently as long as the purpose differs, or if the purposes are the same, the other scholarship must be valued at less than $6,000 per annum.
