About this opportunity
The Walter Keith Irwin Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shay to support students who are dependents or residents with familial guardians who are active duty or retired military personnel from any branch of the U.S. Armed Services. The scholarship is specifically designed for students majoring in studies related to History or Aviation, though engineering or humanities majors are also eligible. Recipients must be high school students from Yuma County or San Pasqual Valley High School. The scholarship recognizes the sacrifices of military families and aims to support the educational advancement of their children and dependents. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate their connection to military service through their familial relationships. The application process opens annually on January 1st and closes on March 15th.
