Walter Merritt Scruggs Scholarship

The Walter Merritt Scruggs Scholarship is awarded to junior-level students enrolled in the Department of Biological Sciences at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated a definite interest in research or teaching within the biological sciences. Recipients must have shown persistence in departmental activities including participation in honoraries, clubs, seminars, field trips, and research. Where other considerations are equal among qualified candidates, financial need will be taken into consideration as a factor. The scholarship is announced in the spring semester and awarded in the fall semester.
