About this opportunity
This scholarship supports students from Papua New Guinea to study postgraduate coursework degrees in fields critical to Papua New Guinea's development. Established in 1946 from a bequest of £35,000 from Dr W.M. Strong of Port Moresby, the scholarship aims to encourage education and research in subjects relevant to the particular needs of Papua New Guinea. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support including a fortnightly stipend at the Research Training Program rate, full tuition coverage, health insurance, visa fees, return airfare, and additional allowances. Eligible students must be citizens of Papua New Guinea with outstanding academic records who have received unconditional offers to study Master of Agriculture and Environment, Master of Public Health, Master of Global Health, Master of Education, or Master of Social Work at the University of Sydney.
