About this opportunity
The WATDA Foundation, the charitable 501(c)(3) branch of the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association, annually awards 70 to 100 scholarships to students attending Wisconsin Technical Colleges in automotive-related programs. The Foundation's mission is to recruit future technicians for dealer members and assist them with tuition, Snap-on Tools, and employment assistance for a rewarding career in the transportation industry.
Scholarship recipients receive $750 per semester for up to four semesters, totaling up to $3,000, with the possibility of receiving a Snap-on tool set. Eligible programs include Automotive, Auto Collision, Diesel (excluding FABCO, Ag and Heavy Equipment), and Motorcycle. Since the program's establishment, the Foundation has awarded over 2,400 scholarships.
Eligible applicants include high school graduates interested in one-or two-year programs as well as current technical college students in the first year of a two-year program. Applicants must be currently working or committed to work in a member dealership and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. No FAFSA or income information is required to apply.
Scholarships are awarded in the spring and summer, with funding beginning with the fall semester. Recipients must be full-time students attending a Wisconsin Technical College.
