This scholarship is funded by Joseph & Linda Russell and Bruce Russell & June Magnussen to honor the memory of Eugene VandenHeuvel.
Students must have a completed and up-to-date Panther Scholarship Portal General Application and Awards Application to be considered. Applications are typically reviewed between February and April each spring, with scholarships awarded for the following academic year beginning in the fall semester.
Applicants are required to demonstrate their passion for water, the environment, or atmospheric science through supplemental questions and list any related focused activities they have participated in. The scholarship awards $800 to support students pursuing studies in freshwater sciences.
This scholarship is administered through the UWM Foundation and is specifically designated for students in the School of Freshwater Sciences who are not graduating in the same spring or summer when the award is made.
