About this opportunity
The Webuild Indigenous Engineering Scholarship is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at the University of Queensland. This scholarship was established in 2022 and is maintained by an annual gift from Webuild, a global construction company. The scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying Engineering at UQ.
The scholarship provides $10,000 per year for one year to assist with educational and living expenses. Two scholarships are awarded annually. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need, be Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, and be enrolled in an engineering program at UQ. The scholarship is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.
Selection is based on demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and other matters considered relevant to future academic success. Where all other considerations are equal, preference is given to applicants who demonstrate academic achievement. Students can apply through a single online application that considers them for all scholarships in the Aspire Scholarship scheme, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship scheme, and UQ Residential Scholarship scheme.
