About this opportunity
This scholarship was established through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation in 1994 by the Wellington Historical and Early Settlers' Association in memory of its then President, the Rt Reverend James E Worsfold, to encourage research into the early history of the Wellington region. The scholarship is open to students who intend to enrol in a BA (Hons), MA or PhD relating to New Zealand history including the Wellington region. The recipient is expected to give an address to the Wellington Historical and Early Settlers' Association on the subject of their thesis and their findings at a mutually confirmed date. The funds will be paid in two equal instalments, the first at the beginning of the year of the scholarship and the second at the time of the delivery of the required lecture to the Wellington Historical and Early Settlers Association.
