About This Opportunity

These Scholarships have been established by the Wellington Women Lawyers Association to assist women studying law at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of financial need to women who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents enrolled full-time in their LLB or LLM at 200 level or above. Wellington Women Lawyers' Association became an official incorporated society in July 1987 with main objectives to work for the equal opportunity and advancement of women in the study and practice of law, to work for the reform of the law and its administration, and for the advancement of social policy in order to promote and protect the interests of women. The selection considers factors such as each applicant's commitment to study, family and community involvement, and secondary consideration is given to academic achievement. Up to three scholarships of $5,000 each are offered annually, subject to funds available.
