Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) for Transfer Students

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). This transfer merit award is a tuition discount for students meeting specific eligibility criteria for incoming transfer students at the University of Utah. The WUE Tuition Discount reduces the amount of standard tuition for eligible non-resident students, allowing recipients to pay no more than 150% of the standard resident tuition rate. Eligible students must be permanent residents of a WUE state or territory, have a completed admissions application by February 1, have earned an associate's degree or at least 30 credit hours without a bachelor's degree, and maintain an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher at the time of application. The discount is renewable for up to four semesters (fall and spring only) or until the student receives a baccalaureate degree, whichever comes first. To maintain the award, students must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, complete at least 24 credit hours during the academic year, and be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) each semester. The WUE Tuition Discount does not cover tuition differential charges, mandatory fees, course fees, e-book fees, or withdrawn courses, and it cannot be combined with any other university merit award from the University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
