About This Opportunity

The Whitemoss Community Grant funds improvements to community buildings and outside spaces with a vision for a healthy environment where communities can thrive. The grant supports projects that promote community action and wellbeing, are inclusive and accessible to everyone, inspire the creation of sustainable carbon neutral community spaces, and protect and enhance biodiversity and natural habitats. Projects must take place on a single site within 10 miles of the Veolia Whitemoss Landfill site and can include physical improvement works to buildings or outdoor spaces with public access such as community centres, public parks, play areas, sports grounds, woodlands, nature reserves, community gardens, and public rights of way. The program requires projects to start within four months of being awarded and complete within 12 months. Applicant organizations must be charitable, not-for-profit, constituted with governing documents, established for at least two years, and have a minimum of two unrelated directors or trustees.
