About this opportunity
The Wigham Family Undergraduate Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary. This scholarship supports students with a demonstrated interest in Mediterranean studies, particularly those majoring or minoring in Greek and Roman Studies, Ancient and Medieval History, or Archaeology. The award is specifically designed to defray travel expenses associated with overseas study or fieldwork in the Mediterranean or Europe. Recipients must demonstrate academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.00 and show proven interest in Mediterranean studies. Preference is given to applicants with confirmed registration in either an academic course in Mediterranean studies or a field excavation in the Mediterranean or Europe. While students must be enrolled full time, they need not be carrying a full course load. Recipients may be required to give a public presentation of their project upon return from their overseas study or fieldwork experience.
