About this opportunity
The Wilbert C. McInnis Entrance Scholarship in Business is awarded to a student who has graduated from a Prince Edward Island high school and is entering the Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island. The scholarship requires a minimum average of 75% and recognizes students who contribute to the community through volunteer work. In the event of two or more equally qualified candidates, financial need will be considered. This scholarship was created by Dan and David McInnis to honour their father, Wilbert C. McInnis, who graduated from St. Dunstan's University in 1951 and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from UPEI in 1995. Mr. McInnis devoted his life to developing the family insurance brokerage firm, Peake and McInnis, and served on various community boards including the UPEI Board of Governors, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Board, and the PEI School of Nursing Board.
