About this opportunity
The Wilderlab eDNA Scholarship supports postgraduate students at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington pursuing research in ecology, conservation, biodiversity or restoration ecology. Founded by alumnus Dr Shaun Wilkinson, CEO of Wilderlab (Aotearoa New Zealand's leading environmental DNA testing laboratory), this award provides valuable water sampling kits and DNA sequencing analysis to assist students with their research costs. The scholarship consists of a gift of Wilderlab eDNA sampling kits and comprehensive eDNA sequencing analysis for 24 samples, with a total market value of approximately $7,680 NZD plus GST and shipping. Recipients are selected based on the merit of their application and research project, with decisions made by the Directors of the Centre for Biodiversity and Restoration Ecology. One scholarship is offered annually, with applications closing on 30 September each year.
