Wilf and Ruth Malcolm Doctoral Scholarship

The Wilf and Ruth Malcolm Doctoral Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has been awarded a University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarship in the previous year and demonstrates the highest GPA and/or is most meritorious. This scholarship provides supplementary funding to support outstanding doctoral students pursuing research-based degrees at the University of Waikato. The scholarship is available across all subject areas including Arts, Business & Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Education, Health, Engineering, Law, Māori & Indigenous Studies, Science, and Social Sciences. The scholarship provides financial support of up to $4,000 per year for up to 36 months, with payments aligned to the awarded University doctoral scholarship. Recipients may also apply for a 3-month extension. No separate application is required as students are automatically considered based on their University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarship award and academic merit.
