William A. Smith Scholarship in Recreation Administration

The William A. Smith Scholarship in Recreation Administration is offered by Eastern Illinois University to support full-time students pursuing degrees in Recreation Administration or Sport and Recreation Management. The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, service and professional involvement, scholarship, and leadership qualities. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 in their major and have completed at least 12 credit hours in the major. The selection process includes an essay requirement where applicants demonstrate their service, professional involvement, academic achievements, and leadership experience. Financial need may also be considered at the discretion of the Selection Committee. This renewable scholarship is announced and paid in the Spring semester, and recipients may receive the award again in subsequent years if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
