About This Opportunity

The William A. Turner, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to enrolled Juniors and Seniors at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX who are pursuing a degree within the College of Education. One or more annual scholarships will be awarded in the amount of up to $5,000 or $6,000 per student. If the student is enrolled in 9 credit hours or more in a semester, the award amount may be up to $5,000 for the academic year. If the student is enrolled in 12 credit hours or more in a semester, the award amount may be up to $6,000 for the school year. Scholarships may be used for tuition and education-related fees. Eligible students must be in good standing, maintain a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale, and agree to pursue employment in the Texas Public School system. Selection criteria includes scholastic achievement, completion of required essays and financial need.
