William H. Groves Memorial Award

The William H. Groves Memorial Award is a scholarship for students on the Intercollegiate Swimming Team at Eastern Illinois University. The award primarily targets junior-level swimmers who demonstrate personal swimming improvement, leadership qualities, and high academic standing, with preference given to those majoring or minoring in Kinesiology and Sports Studies. Recipients must commit to competing with the swim team during their senior year. If no qualifying juniors apply, the award may be offered to sophomores meeting the criteria, or to graduate students in the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Program. Financial need may be considered as part of the selection process. The award is renewable, allowing recipients to reapply in subsequent years if they continue to meet the established criteria. The award is announced in the Spring semester and paid in the Fall semester.
