About this opportunity

A bursary valued at approximately $1,500 awarded annually to a full-time graduate student enrolled in a master's or doctoral program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Students must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada and Ontario residents, be in good academic standing in their current program, and have demonstrated financial need as determined by Waterloo. This fund is made possible by a donation from the family of William (Bill) Johns (BASc '73, Mechanical Engineering and MASc '82, Civil Engineering) in his memory and to honour his kindness, lifelong curiosity, commitment to education, and passion for engineering. Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs selects recipients annually, normally each Fall term. The award is automatically awarded based on financial need determination, and no separate application is required as the Faculty/Department identifies and selects candidates.
