About this opportunity
The William Ritchie Research Scholarship in Classics provides financial assistance to master's by research students, PhD students and academics planning to travel to the University of Cambridge to undertake research in the Classics. The Classics is defined as the languages, literature, philosophy and civilisation of Ancient Greece and Rome. This scholarship has been established to support excellence in research and foster research collaboration, to enrich graduate horizons and internationalism, and to support career development. The scholarship does not support archaeological expeditions or diggings. Preference may be given to research in the languages, literature, philosophy and civilisation of Ancient Greece. Recipients must have support from a staff member from the Faculty of Classics at the University of Cambridge and must be granted status as Visiting Student or Visiting Scholar.

Selection committee consisting of Chair of the Discipline of Classics, William Ritchie Professor of Classics, and two other continuing academic staff. Evaluated based on academic merit, area of study/research proposal, CV, budget, and letter of support from research supervisor.
