About This Opportunity
The Women at Microsoft (WAM) Scholarship was initiated by employees committed to advancing gender equity in tech. This employee-led effort supports students pursuing higher education and careers in technology, with the goal of empowering future generations to achieve more and become more. Each year, Microsoft employees come together to support students pursuing higher education through a community-hosted scholarship program. This effort reflects their shared belief in creating opportunities and the impact of collective generosity. The scholarship is open to all applicants—regardless of gender identity, race, or other protected characteristics—who meet the eligibility requirements. The program evaluates candidates based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Financial need will be considered and recipients must demonstrate need.
