About this opportunity
The Women at Microsoft (WAM) Scholarship was initiated by employees committed to advancing gender equity in tech. This employee-led effort supports students pursuing higher education and careers in technology, with the goal of empowering future generations to achieve more. Each year, Microsoft employees come together to support students pursuing higher education through a community-hosted scholarship program. The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors planning to enroll full-time in undergraduate study related to technology, engineering, math, or computer science at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States.
Selection criteria includes academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Financial need will be considered and recipients must demonstrate need. The scholarships are administered by external partners including the Seattle Foundation and Scholarship America.
