About this opportunity

Available to women students enrolled in one of the federally recognized Building or Manufacturing Red Seal Skilled Trade programs or designated pre-apprenticeship programs at NAIT. Dependent care will be awarded on the basis of costs incurred to cover the cost of dependent care during the period of training. Students will be required to submit proof of expenses and/or receipts. Dependent care applies to costs directly associated with providing care for dependent children and/or adults during the period of training at NAIT. An eligible dependent is a person who is a resident in Canada (this residency requirement does not apply if the person is a child of the individual), is wholly dependent for support on the individual, and is either the individual's parent or grandparent by blood, marriage, common-law partnership, or adoption; or the individual's child, grandchild, brother, or sister, by blood, marriage, common-law partnership, or adoption and is either under 18 years of age or dependent on the individual by reason of a mental or physical infirmity. Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to: caregivers providing childcare services, day nursery schools and daycare centers, boarding schools, overnight sports schools or camps where lodging is involved, and attendant care. The funding for this award is generously provided by Employment & Social Development Canada.
