About This Opportunity
The World Press Institute Fellowship Program is a competitive nine-week immersive program for international journalists to explore U.S. media, culture, politics, and current issues. Each year, WPI selects 10 top international journalists from hundreds of applicants worldwide. The program provides fellows with access to leading media outlets, think tanks, and advocacy organizations across the United States, including Washington DC, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and other major cities. Fellows gain firsthand experience with the U.S. free press, learn about journalistic best practices, and explore new business models in media while interviewing subject matter experts and reporting on social, economic, and political issues. The program begins and ends in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, offering a guided tour across the country with opportunities to meet professionals from various walks of life and experience American democracy and journalism in action.
