About this opportunity
The Hasselblad Foundation invites applications for a writing residency at Rissholmen during 2026. The residency offers a unique opportunity for concentrated work in a quiet, secluded, and nature-rich environment in the outer archipelago of Bohuslän. Rissholmen is a small, uninhabited island located within the Härmanö Nature Reserve in the outer archipelago of Bohuslän, accessible exclusively by boat from Tuvesvik on the western side of Orust. The island contains a single house with an adjoining jetty, and the terrain is hilly with heather, lichens, and mosses forming the dominant vegetation. The residency is aimed at natural scientists and photographers and is offered on two occasions per year – one in spring (May-June) and one in autumn (August-September). The residency is intended for a single person and lasts for one week (7 days). The grant amounts to SEK 10,000 to cover travel and food during the stay, with transportation to and from the island included.
