About this opportunity
A scholarship, valued at a minimum of $3,900, will be awarded annually to an outstanding graduate student entering a research-based master's or doctoral program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Selection will be based on academic excellence with a minimum admission average of 85% or equivalent and their statement of research interest as demonstrated through their application for admission to the program. Preference will be given to graduate students who have not received other named awards at the time of selection. This fund is made possible by donations from Oliver Yang, Steven Yang, Howard Yang and Kanchana Chiamvimonvat to support the next generation of engineering talent while encouraging them to study and complete their research in Canada. The award will be in addition to the student's guaranteed minimum funding for their first year and can be held in conjunction with other awards.
