About this opportunity
Two scholarships, valued at up to $25,000 each over eight academic terms, will be awarded annually to undergraduate students who identify as women entering Year One of the Faculty of Engineering: one to a student in Computer Engineering and one to a student in Electrical Engineering, wherein women are underrepresented. Recipients will receive $3,125 per academic term provided a cumulative academic average of 80% is maintained and they are progressing in the program they were admitted to. This fund is made possible by a donation from Jennifer Yip (BASc '12, Computer Engineering) in honour of her late sister, Janet Law-Yip (BASc '07 Electrical Engineering). Both Jennifer and Janet valued the education they received with Waterloo Engineering and this scholarship is provided to inspire women to pursue a degree in engineering and to support them along the way.
