About This Opportunity

The Y.L and S.H Wong Family Scholarship is a $10,000 per year scholarship designed to support undergraduate students in financial need studying at the University of Sydney. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students commencing their first semester of undergraduate degree study. The scholarship is tenable for the published full-time duration of the recipient's undergraduate (single or combined) degree up to a maximum total duration of 5 years full-time study or part-time equivalent. The annual amount is paid in two equal instalments after the census dates of first and second semester. Applicants are ranked based on their level of financial need at time of application, determined using the UAC EAS categories of disadvantage, and academic merit, determined by University Admission Index (UAI). The scholarship aims to provide meaningful financial support to students who demonstrate both financial need and academic potential. Recipients must continue to meet progression requirements for their course and remain enrolled in an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney. The scholarship can be held while studying part-time, and provisions exist for deferral and suspension of up to two semesters, as well as transfer to another undergraduate degree.
