About this opportunity
The York Bursary is a non-repayable financial award provided by the University of York to support undergraduate students from lower-income households. Students with a household residual income between £0 to £35,000 are eligible for £1,000 per year of study. The University uses the assessment of household income carried out by Student Finance to automatically assess students for bursary eligibility, meaning there is no separate application process required. Students are automatically assessed based on the information they provide on their Student Loan application during three assessment periods throughout the academic year: October, January and April. This bursary has been partly funded through donations from York alumni and supporters to the University of Opportunity fund. Recipients of the York Bursary also gain exclusive access to the On Track programme, an opt-in initiative run by the Careers and Placements team that offers professional development workshops, one-to-one coaching, and opportunities to develop key employability skills and build professional networks.
