About this opportunity
The Youth Education Award program supports the educational aspirations of young adult brain tumour survivors and improves access to post-secondary education. The goals of the program are to inspire inclusion and accessibility to post-secondary education for survivors of pediatric brain tumours, to recognize the significant challenges this unique group faces, and to value the determination and courage they demonstrate during diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. The awards are open to survivors of a pediatric brain tumour diagnosed before the age of 25 who live in Canada and are between the ages of 16-30 years old. Applicants must be in their final year of high school or a CEGEP program, or currently enrolled full-time in a recognized, publicly funded Canadian university or college, and plan to continue their full-time undergraduate studies. The program evaluates applicants on the demonstrated impact of brain tumour symptoms, diagnosis, treatments, and lifestyle adjustments, considering the barriers they have faced and the supports available to them.
